Over the past few weeks of my fcp course at uni, I've been working on a colour trend and how this relates well to a pre-existing brand. Some of this I have reflected on my blog, and so you may already know that I decided to go with primary colours as my bold colour story for this module. Looking at brands who also use bright, blocked, primary colours as their main colour theme, I came across a designer called Jean Charles de Castlebajac, who has been designing for many decades, but in 2009 launched JCDC.
Using the same colour theme, but restyling it with a different trend or patterns each season, JCDC really relates well to my own work, and I feel it would be good to use this brand as a focal point for this project. Therefore, I have created this moodboard which links all my work over the past few weeks together, onto one photoshop document. Consisting of my moodboard composition practice as the background, my colour palette complete with descriptive colour names and images from events, web, products, visual merchandising, inspiration and window displays, I can now start to decide where I want to go next with the task, looking at ways the brand may restyle the colours next season using trend prediction and artistic influences.
I've really enjoyed discovering how all my work links together, and am just getting back to grips with Photoshop again after a few months without using it! Can't wait to work on creating my final moodboards now!
